Oh! You Pretty Things

This Friday Sleepy Kitty joins Jeremy Kannapell and Jason Potter for Oh! You Pretty Things, a poster design show at the St. Louis Artists' Guild. We've got some recent posters and some old favorites, and some out of town posters that finally get a chance to hang in St. Louis! Jason and Jeremy are fantastic and we've spent many moments outside Foam admiring their work. Come check it out!

SGC Action on Cherokee! (March 18)

Getting ready for SGC on Cherokee tonight. We'll have a new piece in Aisle 1 Gallery (Texas & Cherokee) and some new work in Los Caminos (2649 Cherokee Street.) Both opening tonight! Lots of exciting print stuff going on all weekend. This is a lantern we printed for Bob Hartzell's Lights Along Cherokee project. Keep your eyes out for a bunch of these up and down the street tonight.

We're going to be showing some new art prints in a show called Print/Pull on February 18, 2011 at SPACE in the Grove. The show features print work from Blaine Deutsch, Vadim Gershman, Delicious Design League (one of our favorites from Chicago), Kirsten O'Loughlin, Kevin McCoy, John Vogl, and Rhashad Whittier.

Screenprinted show posters don’t just advertise a show; or rather, that’s just Phase 1 in the life of a show poster. True, before the show they’re a great way to get people excited about coming to see the bands. And during the show, they’re part of the merch, explicitly connecting the band and the venue and a great night. But after the show: that’s when they do the thing that only a real screenprinted show poster can do. A year later, or 5 or 10 years from now, looking at the poster will still bring back the whole night with sudden clarity. The band, the club, the music, the scene, the friends, the temperature of the air that night: St. Louis circa that very evening. Posters are as crucial in their way as the music itself is in creating longevity and legend, here in St. Louis and everywhere else the posters travels. View Poster Portfolio

Here's images from the Rock For Kids 7th Annual Music Mixer Auction. This was Sleepy Kitty's second year involved. We had a great time making our mix, and we're really happy with how it turned out.
